Featuring Three different sauces, starting with Shay’s BBQ Sauce, a Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce and a Texas BBQ Rub.
Shay’s Barbeque Sauce
INGREDIENTS
- 2 ½ cups of Ketchup
- ½ cup of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
- ½ cup of Maple Syrup
- 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of dried mustard
- 2 tablespoons of minced garlic or garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 2 dashes of hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon of paprika
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
- In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, add olive oil, garlic, chili powder for about 2 minutes.
- Add ketchup, maple syrup, vinegar, browns sugar, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce to mixture and stir.
- Once you have stirred for a couple of minutes, add dried mustard, chili powder, paprika, bay leaves and salt and pepper to taste.
- Turn heat to low, and let mixture simmer for about 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves before serving.
Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce
INGREDIENTS
- 4 Tablespoons of roasted minced garlic
- 2 cups of Mayonnaise
- ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- ½ cup Lemon Juice
- ¼ cup of Honey
- ¼ cup of Pure Maple Syrup or Agave Nectar
- ¼ Horseradish sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
In a food processor mix all ingredients until smooth. Store in a container and refrigerate until ready to use. This is a perfect sauce for pulled pork and chicken. You can also serve sauce as a dipping sauce for potato wedges and french-fries.
Texas BBQ Rub
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of Brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon of Garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of Dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of Celery salt
- 2 teaspoon of Salt
- ¼ cup of Paprika
- 1 teaspoon of Ground Cloves
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl mix all ingredients. Use as a rub on ribs, brisket, and chicken.
